Tauranga has two wastewater treatment plants - one at Chapel Street, which deals with everything on the city side of the harbour bridge, and one at Te Maunga, which deals with the Mount and Papamoa.
The two treatment plants operate slightly differently but both achieve the same high standard of clean, safe water. No chemicals are used in the treatment process.
