State Highways 2, 2A, 29 and 36 dissect our city. These highways are the responsibility of the NZ Transport Agency (NZTA).

NZTA is responsible for ongoing maintenance, funding, major upgrading and/or changes to the state highway network within the city.
Harbour Link is the name of Tauranga’s Harbour Bridge and it is part of the state highway network. The first bridge was opened in 1988. The second bridge was opened in 2009.
