Ferries

Matakana Island Ferry Services:

There are two ferry services from the mainland to Matakana Island.  One departs from the Omokoroa boat ramp four times a day at: 

• 7.45am
• 9.00am
• 2.00pm
• 4.00pm 

There are no set return times, but arrangements can be made with the operator, Matakana Ferry Ltd. on 027 492 7251. 

There is also a ferry operating from the Cross Road Boat Ramp at Sulphur Point. This is a truck transport barge and only runs when there are trucks going over. The operators, Forest Lady Barge, can be reached on 027 493 7426. 

Tauranga / Mount Maunganui Ferry Services

There are many taxi companies that offer services in Tauranga and Mount Maunganui.  Please consult your local phone directory for further information.

An Airport Shuttle service is operated by Mount Taxis, phone 0800 TAXI 4 U.

Tauranga Taxis also have specialist services with total mobility vehicles, phone 0800 TAXIS.

Trains

There are currently no passenger train services in Tauranga.
