It is a prescribed qualification referred to in the Sale of Liquor Act that demonstrates you have had recent and relevant training.
Do I need a Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ)?
- Yes – for general manager's certificate only
- No – for club manager’s certificates
From 1 April 2006, the Agency will not be able to issue or renew a manager’s certificate unless the applicant supplies a copy of their LCQ.

I’ve owned licensed premises for many years, why do I need to sit a course/test?
