The reserves Act 1977 requires all administering bodies to prepare Management Plans for all the reserves under its control. Management Plans allow administering bodies to set in place policies for the day to day management of the reserves and establish the desired range of values and uses for each reserve.
The intention of a Management Plan is to provide for and ensure the use, enjoyment, protection and preservation, as the case may require,and, to the extent that the administrating body's resources permit, the development , as appropriate, of the reserve for the purpose for which it was classified.
Tauranga City Council has a number of management Plans for the reserves under it's control. These include:
