Please dial 111 and alert the fire department immediately. Then please phone Tauranga City Council on 577 7000 so we can alert the Rangers.
Fire Restriction Status
Please contact the Western Bay of Plenty District Council to find out what the current fire restriction status is for the Bay of Plenty.
Permitted Fires
You are able to take your gas barbeque to any park or reserve or foreshore - however NO open fires are permitted on reserves.
Urban fires are permitted as long as they are under one square metre, three metres from fences, hedges and buildings and do not breach any Council bylaws. You cannot burn waste oil, plastic or rubber, and any vegetation must be dry. Advise the NZ Fire Service when and where you are burning.
