Strategy and Policy Committee (fortnightly)

  • Strategic policies, strategies, plans and bylaws 
     
  • Proposed changes to the District Plan
     
  • Submissions on Central Government and other agencies policies
     
  • Establishment of levels of service across Council activities to achieve outcomes in accordance with priorities

Projects and Monitoring Committee (monthly)

  • Monitor organisation performance against the approved Ten Year Plan and Annual Plan
     
  • Monitor the effectiveness of Council/community/agency agreements
     
  • Monitor Council Controlled organisation’s performance against the respective Statement of Intent and Business Plan
     
  • Monitor the level of building consent and resource consent applications as a key local growth trend indicator
     
  • Receive the risk analysis, legal issues, treasury reports
  • Monitor the progress of Scenario One projects being implemented through a Project Steering Group
  • Monitor key activities and services (without operational interference in the services) in order to better information the members and the community about key Council activities and issues that arise in the operational arm of the Council
     
  • Provide a forward looking focus for the key projects and services being undertaken by Council to ensure that members are aware of the inter-connections between projects and services and to give elected members an opportunity to contribute to the success of projects and services

Tangata Whenua / TCC Committee (bi- monthly)

  • Maintain an effective and meaningful partnership between Tauranga City Council and Tangata Whenua
  • Provide strategic leadership and advice to Tauranga City Council, Tangata Whenua and the wider community in respect of environmental, social, economic and cultural outcomes
